Hot Tip: Changing Your Move Notation

By default all chess moves are displayed in the form "a2a4", i.e. the coordinate of the starting square followed by the coordinate of the finishing square. This is not the most descriptive notation however. If you go to the Settings page you can change the "Move Display Notation" setting to use your preferred notation style.
